Our Technology: Precise - Fast - To the point!

Our monitoring solutions are based on Distributed Temperature and Strain Sensing (DTSS) technology along fiber-optic cables (FOC). Fibers serve over its entire length as sensors (measuring range up to 100 km).

The use of "Stimulated Brillouin Scattering" (SBS), allows the measurement of temperatures and strains and their minimal changes with high spatial resolutions. By the use of standard single-mode fibers, as used in telecommunications cables, high signal-to-noise ratio, and long term stable measurement results can be achieved.

The speed, sensitivity, accuracy and reliability of this method makes it ideal for automatic and continuous monitoring of critical equipment failure with serious consequences, such as oil and gas pipelines, chemical pipelines, submarine power cables of offshore wind farms or overhead power lines.

Temperatures and strains can be measured with a local resolution down to 0.5 m. With measurement resolution of 0.1 ° C for temperatures or 2 microstrain with strains minimal changes can be detected. The high optical budget of the instruments allows use of fiber-optic cables with high attenuation. The fast access time - one second for dynamic monitoring, up to several minutes for high resolution measurements - allows to recognize critical situations quickly and to take appropriate action before any major damage can occur and develop into a disaster.

We rely on our solutions on the proven technology of the Swiss company Omnisens SA. The solution consists of one or more measurement devices, the DITEST interrogator and, depending of the application, an Asset Integrity Monitoring (AIM) or Long Distance Temperature Monitoring (LTM) software package on a central server. These software packages are designed for monitoring activities based on the analysis of temperature and/or strain profiles measured by different DITEST interrogators. Events, identified by specific temperature and/or strain values or trends, are detected, analysed and identified in view of rising alarms automatically to the operation center of the customer 
when appropriate .The connection between interrogators and central server is based on TCP / IP data connections. The modularity and unrivaled reach of the system allows customized and cost-effective solutions.
